What can you do?

You do not have to put up with it! No-one deserves to be abused, so, its not your fault in any way.

DONT believe what he says to you- whatever you do won't change how he treats you.

If you have been assaulted you can:

  • Call the police. Assault is a criminal offence
  • Get medical attention, even if the injuries are slight, and tell the doctor how you were injured

If you have been raped or sexually assaulted you can:

  • Call the police. Rape or sexual assault is still a crime even if you are married or living with the man
  • Get medical attention and tell the doctor what happened
  • Speak to someone you trust like your doctor or health visitor
